About Us
The R Care CPR, LLC

Rescue, Revive, Renew

The mission of The R is to assist in the prevention of injury and death resulting from unexpected life situations that requires immediate action by improving the knowledge and training of all those in the home, community, schools, and the workplace as well as those in the healthcare profession.

The R, LLC specializes in high quality CPR and Safety certification and training in the Charlotte North Carolina and Nashville Tennessee area. We offer classes in CPR, AED, BLS & First Aid. An American Heart Association (AHA) certified instructor trains all of our clients!

At The R we pride ourselves on providing exceptional First Aid/CPR training in underserved communities especially those of color; African American & Hispanic specifically.

Who do we serve and why?
Serving ALL communities with specific emphasis on those underserved has become both our mission and vision. Diversity and inclusion is extremely important to both The R Care CPR, LLC and the American Heart Association.

The American Heart Association continuously improves their instructor training, guaranteeing their instructors are current and giving the best education to ALL. One of the Instructor updates included targeting barriers with regard to race, gender, ethnic population & demographics in prevention of injury and death that may arise in unexpected life circumstances.

In a study completed by Duke Health, between the years of 2008-11, researchers analyzed more than 22,000 cases where cardiac arrest occurred in a non-hospital setting. The study found that nearly 40% of people stricken with cardiac arrest outside of the hospital receive CPR from a bystander. However, of that 40%, in primary white neighborhoods the rate was almost 47%, while in predominantly black neighborhoods, the rate dropped to 18%.

The R decided that we would do something to bridge the gap in those odds by offering First Aid/CPR specific to those demographics. We moved into immediate action when we learned of another study conducted by the American College of Cardiology that found that Black and Hispanic people significantly less likely than while people to receive CPR from the same bystander. The study proved again the importance of ensuring that the Brown and Black community receives the lifesaving skills necessary to save their neighbors and loved ones.

Where have we been successful?
We have been very successful with a 100% in CPR completions! Every student that takes our CPR/First Aid course walks away with the skills necessary to save a life.
To help close this excruciating health equity gap, The R advertises on the social media pages of community churches, businesses and schools while also using grass root methods such as mailers and door-to-door informative greets.

How will we remain innovative?
We want to stay innovative by stretching our services across the globe, through the certification of people in underserved and underprivileged communities all over the world.
We also want to improve our reach and plan to do so by offering FREE classes. To do that we need to apply for a grant or government stipend to be able to do so in these underserved neighborhoods without our clients’ financial ability to be a constraint to them receiving the lifesaving training.

What are some of the difficulties’ we faced during Covid19?
We were busy, during Covid19 our focus shifted greatly to meet the needs of our first responders and health care workers. Due to the shift, it was difficult to focus on underserved neighborhoods, but we are back.
